King’s Leadership Academy is fully committed to ensuring that pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)  experience a wholly inclusive education. We vow to make sure no child is left behind in their learning and this includes pupils with additional needs.

Our priority for pupils with literacy or numeracy difficulties in Year 7 is to raise levels of attainment in these areas. We do this immediately by tailoring a programme of personalised intervention. In order to facilitate such intervention, we have invested in phonics packages, online reading programmes, iPad applications and teachers have undertaken training in how to deliver these programmes effectively.

Mrs Samantha Lawrence is the Academy’s SEND Co-ordinator, and will always be pleased to talk to parents about issues relating to their children.
